Bathroom renovations: the order things have to happen in
Waterproofing before tiling, and why nobody can shortcut that one.
Strip out, rough-in, waterproof, sign off the waterproofing, tile, fit off. In that order, every time.
The step people try to compress is the sign-off between waterproofing and tiling, because it is a day of nothing visibly happening.
It is also the only step that, done wrong, takes the whole bathroom out again in three years.
